AVT, part of Danaher’s Product Identification group (PID) and a supplier of print inspection, process control and quality assurance products, is presenting integrated solutions for enhanced productivity and efficiency at Labelexpo Europe. Co-located with sister company Esko, AVT is showcasing its newest, most advanced automated inspection solutions for label and packaging applications supported by next-generation workflow automation solutions per Industry 4.0 “smart factory” production. AVT’s products enable converters to set cross-plant quality standards in tandem with Esko’s Automation Engine (AE) and X-Rite’s ColorCert. AVT’s AutoSet module automates job setup by streamlining prepress to pressroom connectivity from the Esko Automation Engine to AVT’s inspection system. Meanwhile, the iCenter platform empowers printers to tightly control cross-site quality standards ensuring global consistency. According to Jaron Lotan, president of AVT, “In the two years since joining the Danaher family, we have continued to strengthen our synergies with Esko and X-Rite by co-developing solutions that address the future of prepress-to-finish workflow automation. As we move deeper into the Industry 4.0 production landscape, the interconnectivity and compatibility required of solutions at various production points places those in strategic partnerships at a strong advantage.” For color measurement, the digital link between X-Rite’s ColorCert color and AVT’s Spectralab inline color measurement device automatically sets up a job for inline color measurement and generates color scorecard reporting on color quality performance after printing. This integration delivers better visibility into color performance based on measurable, objective results for increased color consistency. For those customers seeking 100% inspection at full press and rewinder speeds without sacrificing quality, AVT’s Helios Turbo HD+ serves as an advanced inspection system. The solution affords high-resolution automatic inspection designed for exacting quality assurance of fine details, bar codes and variable data, and for customers operating wider-web platforms (445-670mm). And as variable data applications continue to become more popular, AVT offers enhanced variable data inspection, validation and grading solutions, including advanced reporting capabilities, while supporting a variety of production workflows on both press and rewinder. AVT is also conducting dedicated inspection demonstrations of packaging and shrink-sleeve applications. These include Helios S Turbo+, an automatic inspection system for high-speed performance, complemented by the new Continuous and Random Defect Display for process defects monitoring. For digital printers, AVT offers its Helios D, a high-end 100% automatic inspection system that addresses missing nozzles, ink drips, color uniformity and other sector-specific challenges – all in real time. AVT has also been showcasing integrated press control and quality assurance solutions for OEM’s digital presses, as well as inline solutions such as JetIQ, a closed loop quality engine that works in synergy with press controllers to maintain exemplary print quality, offering full connectivity to all steps and solutions of digital inkjet printing. AVT’s digital solutions are also present throughout the show with companies such as HP and Mark Andy. For AVT, Labelexpo Europe also provides the opportunity to introduce its newest senior-level executive, Charles Lissenburg, the company’s new general manager of EMEA. “As the preeminent trade event on our calendar, Labelexpo is an ideal opportunity to build and strengthen working relationships with existing and potential customers as well as our valued partners around the world,” says Lissenburg. “I look forward to being part of a team that has set the bar in worldwide print inspection.”
